This evergreen shrub is one of the most prolific bloomers you can find. Almost all year long it’s practically covered in spikes of bright, golden-yellow flowers that are as attractive to you as they are to bees and butterflies. It’s also very low maintenance, holding up to Summer heat, drought and humidity, making it a valuable addition to any garden, even if you enjoy it as an annual in cold-Winter areas.
- Can reach about 6 ft. tall and wide
- Blooms year-round in frost-free areas, in the North, it blooms constantly from spring to fall
- Grows best in full Sun (at least 6-hours of direct Sun per day) or part Sun (morning shade with afternoon sun)
- Drought tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering
- Note: plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested additionally, exposure to the sap of plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact, grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption
- Typically deer- and rabbit-resistant, but individual animals may eat it
- Excellent in landscape beds, borders or in mass plantings and can also be used as a hedge or foundation plant
- Zones 9 to 11, but can be grown anywhere as a landscape annual or in container gardens
